It was good to see former Gateway students now in action working onboard. One group took me to dinner at a local favorite. I admire them being crew during this historical transition of retiring one ship and starting another. This is not an easy place to live, but they're doing great!

Good friends on the Anastasis
The best thing about being back onboard the Anastasis was reconnecting with good friends, many of which had been crew on the Caribbean Mercy with me. John and Lee-Ann Borrow and their son Timmy, along with Keith Brinkman showed me around Monrovia. It felt like being with family again!

...a few hours later! Thankfully, a UN vehicle right behind us took us on to the ship. They were coming from the airport, too.
burning landrover
I finally got to go to Africa. I was sent to do standardized testing in the onboard Academy the last two weeks of April. However, in Liberia our landrover caught fire and burned on the drive from the airport to the ship. What a beginning to my time in Liberia!

It's been too long!
Okay, okay, I've been reminded that my blog site has been shamefully neglected. I somehow got distracted and now enough time has past that I've forgotten just how to do all this technical stuff. But I'm working on it, so watch this site....more to come.
